Course Structure

The ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Nail Technology (Mandarin) consists of 3 unit

  • Manicure and Pedicure (50 hours)

This module provides many avenues for student-learning in areas of contraindications for nail disease and disorders, performing hand sanitation, using nail equipment like cuticle knives and buffers, nail finishing, and applying proper hygiene standards in nail treatment. Students will also learn about the structure of the nail, as well as various anatomical and physiological systems influencing nail treatment like the lymphatic system and the muscular system. Essentially, students will learn to apply knowledge about nail manicure and pedicure treatments in their workplace.

  • Nail Technology (60 hours)

This unit enables students to understand the concepts behind nail enhancements, and to recognize and deal with nail diseases, disorders and allergic reactions. Students would be able to appreciate the contents of nail products used, the reasons and theories behind the choice of appropriate nail systems, as well as the concept underpinning the use of UV together with the effects it produces. The unit also aims to equip students with the ability to apply concomitant practical skills in choosing nail systems, UV gel overlays, and usage of acrylic, as evidence of applying appropriate nail technology to a variety of situations where nails are concerned. 

  • Professional Conduct & Business Awareness (50 hours)

The aim of this module is to enable student to understand types of business, advantages and disadvantages of each type of business, finance and costing, advertisement paraphernalia, and chances of promotion in the industry.

Lecturer-Student Ratio  – 1:16

Language – This course will be conducted in Mandarin

  • At least age of 16 or above
  • Overall pass in GCE “O” Level with at least a Grade C  in any 2 subjects or pass in TCMHC GCE “O“ Level in-house test
  • Pass in GCE “O” Level Chinese with minimum Grade C or pass in TCMHC GCE “O” Level in-house test
